APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA/MINUTES - The agenda and minutes were approved as written. To view current and previous minutes, please visit: http://www.cwu.edu/~hr/minutes/index.html.
Selection of EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH FOR NOVEMBER - CAROLE COLLISON, Fiscal Technician II, Student Employment.
Carole is a wonderful, highly-valued employee and a true pleasure to work with and supervise. She is in charge of the process of creating payroll assignments for all student employees in the PeopleSoft HR system. This is a monumental task, as there are more than 2,000 students working on campus.
Carole is exceptionally skilled in performance of her duties. She is able to make sense of difficult payroll and accounting problems by utilizing her impressive analytical and problem-solving skills, all while maintaining her pleasant, respectful and courteous demeanor. She has prevented many potential liabilities for CWU by her faithful adherence to regulatory standards, even when confronted with angry and desperate people, patiently explaining why she must insist on proper procedures.
She voluntarily works a lot of overtime to accommodate the workflow without complaint, showing her dedication to our students and their needs. Most of them will never even know how much she has helped them, because they don’t see it, and it is often at the expense of her own personal time.
Though she usually works behind the scenes, she is a dedicated and valued employee who improves the campus with her competence, her commitment and her caring. We are lucky indeed to have someone of her excellence at CWU.
Congratulations, Carole!
Campus Community Building Program
“The purpose of the program is to give members of the university community who are concerned about improving the university’s climate a positive way to direct their energy and an opportunity to connect with other university members who also want to take action to improve their community.” http://www.cwu.edu/~ccbp/
