Overtime - Civil Service and Temporary Hourly

  • Overtime is paid at the rate of time-and-a-half regular pay for overtime eligible employees.

Comp Time - Classified Staff

  • At the employee's request and supervisor's concurrence, comp time may be granted in lieu of monetary payment.
  • Compensation may be approved in time only if the employee's annual leave and compensatory time combined will not exceed 240 hours; otherwise, extra hours worked must be paid in money.
  • Unused comp time should be scheduled by the department or cashed out sixty days prior to the end of the biennium.
  • Upon termination of employment, the employee will be paid for any unused comp time.
  • When an employee moves to another department due to a job change, all comp time must be cashed out and charged against the budget of the department that is losing the employee.
  • Accumulated comp time must be used before vacation leave.

Comp Time - Classified Staff in Bargaining Unit I

  • At the employee's request and supervisor's concurrence, comp time may be granted in lieu of monetary payment.
  • Bargaining Unit I: No more than 120 hours may be earned in any department's cash-out year.
  • Unused comp time should be scheduled by the department or cashed out sixty days prior to the end of the biennium.
  • Upon termination of employment, the employee will be paid for any unused comp time.
  • When an employee moves to another department due to a job change, all comp time must be cashed out and charged against the budget of the department that is losing the employee.
  • Accumulated comp time must be used before vacation leave.
