Gini Silva

Employee of the Month for May 2005

Gini is responsible for receiving mail packages for students. There was an influx during the holiday period as students were preparing for Thanksgiving and the December holidays. Specifically, Gini went out of her way to locate missing packages from the United States Postal Service. By the way, Gini is not responsible for packages received through the Postal Service (only those through UPS and FedEx). She made additional calls to students to remind them that their packages were there. Gini also went above and beyond the call of duty working with the Residence Hall Association. The group had prepared an award to be considered nationally; however, the computer program the students used would not allow them to submit the bid electronically. Gini prepared the bid for submission. Gini's work allowed for Central to be considered in the top two for this prestigious award. Gini serves on the Commission for Sexual Violence. Gini has been instrumental in creating the first ever consolidated book on sexual violence. Gini is often recognized by students and staff within our department for her outstanding work.
