EOTM 2004 : July |
Brian MeltonEmployee of the Month for July 2004Officer in Public Safety & Police Services. Brian's duties are to patrol Central, specifically to provide a safe learning and working environment for students, faculty and staff. He handles requests for police services (such as unlocks, motorist and medical assistance), traffic enforcement, accident investigations as well as investigation of crimes that occur on CWU properties. Brian has had several cases recently that involved detailed investigation to bring about their conclusion. The most noted was a case, which involved three students attempting to extort money from two other students. Brian also recently received a letter of thanks from the prosecutor's office for a job well done on an assault case he worked that ended in the conviction of the suspect. He has an exceptional working knowledge of the criminal and university codes and is able to handle any task or assignment with competence and professionalism. And, he continually strives to better himself through requesting training opportunities that are available. I have witnessed Brian's interaction with students and customers coming into the office. He is always professional, but - by his actions and words - lets them know he will do all he can to help them. He puts them as ease and goes the extra mile to help them. He also offers his assistance to the office personnel in any way he can. |
