Database Administrator, Information Technology Services - Applications. As a database analyst, Larry is in one of the most vital and complex positions in my organization. Yet, I think one could use the term "self-made man" for him. He started working for Central as an entry-level programmer but has built his expertise to the highest level. Several years back, when our group needed someone to take on additional duties in the D-B-A (database analysis) area, Larry agreed to help out. In order to be successful, he had to go through a grueling series of training sessions after which he was basically thrown into the fire. With little experience and limited resources to fall back on, Larry excelled. He is one of the people in our shop that always has something positive to say. He is always quick to respond to customer needs and he does it with a smile. Larry always has a "can-do" attitude no matter how swamped he might be in reality. And, when there is a problem, Larry will jump in and do all he can to ensure that it is resolved. There is never a doubt that he will fulfill any and every responsibility. It's really difficult to put into words just how dedicated Larry is. We see this constantly and too often take it for granted.
