Employee of the Month for January 2003

Rebecca "Becky" Gubser

Becky lends support to every department in Academic Affairs. When staff members struggled to learn PeopleSoft, she stepped up to the plate and created an elaborate, easy-to-follow, step-by-step manual for the end user. She has outstanding customer service. Her efforts are 150% to see that needs are met. She is always very pleasant to work with and has an upbeat attitude. Becky displays pride in her job and commitment to CWU in everything she does. She is one that can always be relied on. She says she will do something, she does. Becky is an outstanding member of our staff and for her the standard is "Above and Beyond" the call. She gives nothing less than an exemplary effort and her upbeat attitude makes her great to have as a co-worker.

Supervisor Comments: Becky is an outstanding budget analyst. She has no degree, and only minimal clerical support, yet does a more thorough and efficient job of managing a complex budget of twice the size as one from my previous position that had a 3-member team lead by a Masters degree. She has become the lead person in implementing the transition to PeopleSoft financial systems in Academic Affairs. She meets deadlines and completes reports well before they are due. Her work is always high quality and virtually without error. She regularly works with staff in academic departments. She is constantly improving the efficiency and effectiveness of fiscal management. She is a truly exemplary employee who has made and continues to make tremendous contributions to efficiency, effectiveness and civility in Academic Affairs.
