Employee Benefits : Dental Insurance |
Employer PaidOverviewDental insurance is part of the university employee insurance package, which also includes medical, life and long-term disability insurances. The coverage is available from different insurance carriers depending on residence location and/or preference of medical/dental service delivery. The university pays the total premium for dental insurance. Choosing a Dental PlanDuring the first 31 days of eligibility and at the annual open enrollment, employees may choose among two Managed Care plans and one Fee-for-service plan. The Health Care Authority offers a Comparison of the plans. Note that the Managed Care Plans do not have any dentists in Kittitas County. Check to see which plans have participating dentists in your area.
Managed CareDental plans require that you receive services through one of their dentists, which must be chosen at the time the plan is chosen. The managed care dentists will file any necessary claims for you. Fee for Service: Uniform Dental PlanThe Uniform Dental Plan is a fee-for-service plan with a preferred provider network. Within the network cleaning is free every 6 months, and other services are covered at 50% to 80% after a deductible. You may also use any dentist outside of the network; however, you will pay more of the cost and may need file your own claim form. |
