As student leaders involved with NRHH, one of our main goals is to recognize people for the
great things that they do. From a little note to say hi to providing a banquet at the end of
the year, members are consistently coming up with new and exciting ways to recognize the
students, staff and faculty that do so much for our university. To often people walk through
our lives doing great things and do not get recognized for them, but in NRHH recognition is
our top priority.
Here are a few recognition programs we have created:
- ROSE (Recognition of Superior Effort & Enthusiasm) Award: The resident assistants on campus do a job that many others cannot. They commit much of their time to their residents, while trying to balance their own life and academic load. They do a wonderful job and we recognized each RA staff member with a ROSE certificate and a chocolate rose to say thanks.
- Custodial Recognition: Our residence hall custodial crews are working round the clock to make sure that our halls are a health and safe environment for residents. The winter months in Ellensburg can get cold, so to recognize the crews for their outstanding work we gave each of them a certificate and some hot chocolate mix to make the days a little less cold.
- Faculty Recognition Day: While students are a vital part of the campus, faculty also plays an important role. Most often professors do more then teach and they are really great people. For all their work in the classroom professors were nominated by NRHH members and honored during a recognition day. They were treated to some refreshments, given a certificate and a small token of the student's appreciation.
- Out of the Blue Award: Saying thank you to a perfect stranger can be very rewarding. The out of the blue award is something that members can carry on them and give out to people they see doing amazing things on campus. NRHH cant be everywhere all of the time, but we can most places with this award.
- Department Chair Recognition: Working hard to maintain an academic department can be more then expected sometimes. Department chairs are consistently making efforts to make everyone happy within their department and get the best education to our students. To honor the work they do, NRHH gave out a nice thank you message along with a cup of noodles for all of the department chairs on campus. A little something for those long days.
