Discover! Orientation Summer 2008

For students beginning classes during the Fall 2008 Quarter.


Thank you for your interest in the Discover. We look forward to meeting you this summer and having you join the CWU Community. We strongly encourage you to use the link below to submit your reservation request on line. (We are unable to process reservation requests by telephone at anytime.)

Please Note: The fees for attendance at Discover are not posted to the student account until later this summer. Payment is not due and cannot be processed until after you receive the fall quarter invoice which is mailed to you by Student Financials in late August.

First-year and Running Start Handbook

New Student Programs and the CWU community welcome you to Discover! - the New Student Orientation and Enrollment Program. All incoming first-year and Running Start students are required to attend Discover! If you are unable to attend one of the two-day sessions, you are required to notify us in writing via US mail, Fax, or email to: discover@cwu.edu. More details are on page F5 of the Discover handbook.

We strongly recommend you complete and submit your reservation request online by using the link at the top of this page. If you are unable to complete the reservation request online, you may use the form contained in the handbook or print a copy from the "print & mail" link above.

The handbook provides detailed information about the two-day Discover program, fees, lodging options, and instructions about how to fill out the reservation request.

Program Highlights:
  • Two days specifically designed to meet your unique needs as an incoming first-year or Running Start student
  • Understanding CWU academic requirements
  • Receiving guidelines and expectations for a CWU student
  • Learning about major courses of study and future career opportunities
  • Information about how to use the CWU SAFARI online registration and student account system
  • Individual assistance with enrollment in fall quarter classes
  • Exploring academic buildings, dining facilities, and the Student Union and Recreation Center
  • Staying in a residence hall for a glimpse into on-campus life
  • Meeting fellow students, faculty, advisors, and staff to begin an integral part of your university experience

New Student Programs and the CWU community welcome you to Discover! - the New Student Orientation and Enrollment Program. All transfer students are encouraged to attend Discover! If you are unable to attend one of the sessions, you should log into the Registrar's web page to access the fall quarter Registration Handbook. The handbook will be posted in May or June and will provide instructions about enrolling for fall quarter classes online. The online enrollment process for transfer students who cannot attend Discover begins August 1, 2008.
