Summer Discover! Orientation and Enrollment Program for Incoming Fall 2010 Students

Welcome Wildcats! Planning for the summer 2010 Discover! New Student Orientation and Enrollment program is currently underway. In approximately mid-April all incoming students will receive information about registering for the summer Discover! program in the mail and via their CWU e-mail account. The dates for the summer Discover! program are listed below. Students will request to attend one of these sessions. Please note that we are unable to take reservation requests until the reservation handbook become available in mid-April. When reservations are ready to be taken, the reservation handbook will appear on this page. Reservations should be completed online from this web page.

General Information
The Discover! New Student Orientation and Enrollment Program is part of a series of comprehensive programs specifically designed to acclimate newly admitted students to Central Washington University. During Discover! you will hear presentations from faculty and staff, receive valuable information about programs and services, experience a taste of campus life and enroll in your fall-quarter classes.

Discover! gives you the opportunity to:
  • Understand academic requirements and receive guidelines for success
  • Learn about major courses of study and future career opportunities
  • Receive individualized attention from professional advisors who will assist you with class registration
  • Utilize the CWU SAFARI online registration and student account systems
  • Explore buildings and facilities, and get a glimpse into life on the CWU campus
  • Begin an integral part of your university experience by meeting fellow students, faculty, advisors, and staff
  • And…make new friends who will become an integral part of your college experience
New Student Programs and the campus community look forward to meeting you, having you become a part of the CWU family and providing the opportunity for you to begin to experience college life at CWU. Our CWU faculty and staff will be available to answer your questions about academic and student activities.

First Year Students

Wildcat Welcome Weekend is a mandatory event for all first-year students and will help you begin to feel at home at Central. You will connect with other students, become familiar with campus and get acquainted with the many resources available to you. We want to help prepare you for a successful academic experience. In addition, to many fun activities, we have planned several valuable educational sessions and workshops. Wildcat Welcome Weekend participation will count toward the final grade in your University 101 or Music 104 class.

Transfer Students

While Wildcat Welcome Weekend is only mandatory for first-year students, we invite transfer students to attend as well. Wildcat Welcome Weekend will help you begin to feel at home at Central. You will connect with other students, become familiar with campus and get acquainted with the many resources available to you. We want to help prepare you for a successful academic experience. In addition, to many fun activities, we have planned several valuable educational sessions and workshops. Please review the schedule above and attend any of the sessions that you feel would be valuable to your experience as a transfer student.
