Jennifer Shuttleworth: Jennifer Shuttleworth plans on researching Ivan IV of Russia and the foundations for his political power. In particular she is interested in the connections between the metropolitan and the Tsar. The metropolitan oversaw several rituals for the Tsar (coronation, marriage and funerals, to name a few). By participating in those rituals, the metropolitan gave his support to the Tsar and his rule.
