1. How do I access my email on campus?

From any on campus CWU computer click on the GroupWise icon. On Windows this is available in the Network Application window. It should be available on the desktop of a Macintosh. See the documentation for Email Use in the Email Use document.

2. How can I access my email from off-campus?

The dial-in service is available at 963-8002. Using your web browser, access the GroupWise Web Interface Login (gwweb.cwu.edu) and enter your e-mail login name and password.

3. How do I forward my mail to my Internet service provider or my other email account?

Start up a Groupwise client and do the following:

  1. Click on Tools
  2. Click on Rules
  3. Click on New
  4. Enter a rule name, this is for reference only
  5. Set check box for "New Item" Received
  6. Set check box "Mail" under Item types
  7. Click on Add Action
  8. Select "Delegate"
  9. Enter your forwarding email address at your ISP
  10. Click OK
  11. Click on Add Action
  12. Select "Delete/Decline" to make sure forwarded mail is deleted afterwards
  13. Enter comment or leave empty, and Click on OK
  14. Click on Save

Back in Rules window, Rule name should be checked, if not Click on Enable. Don't forget help is available in Groupwise.

4. How do I change my password?

Windows 95 users:

Click on the start button, select run, type in "setpass". A window will start up and prompt you for your old password and your new password twice. It will tell you that your network password has changed when complete.

Windows NT user:

Hit the Control key, Alt Key and Delete key all together. This will bring up a Novell Client window with a Change Password button. Fill in the fields for old password, new password, and confirm new password. Click on the OK button and the system will return a message on the status of the change.

Macintosh users:

Click on the tree icon in the top right corner, select "Change Password", a window will start up and prompt you for your old password and your new password twice. The system will return a message on the status of the change.

GroupWise:

In GroupWise to set or change your password, click on Tools, Options then security.

If you do not know either of your old passwords or are having problems, please contact the Helpdesk at 963-2001 or come to Bouillon 128.

5. I need to access my files stored on the server from off campus.

It is now possible to access your CWU stored files from off campus, please see CWU Portal .
