This is an open group (it does not have a set number of sessions) that is less structured than a seminar or psychoeducational group. It is designed to offer an opportunity to understand your behavior in a social setting of your peers. Through self-disclosure and interactions with others, the goal is to improve self-understanding and interpersonal awareness.
This is a structured 4-session group that is designed to present the basics of stress management and recognizing stress, identifying sources of stress, and learning how to deal with stress. The workshop teaches several relaxation techniques.
This is a structured 6 to 8-session group designed to increase your acceptance of body shape and size and to improve your self-esteem.
This is a four-session group and each session can be attended without necessarily beginning with session #1; that is, each session is a stand alone session. The group focuses on introducing you to a variety of self-calming techniques including relaxation and mindfulness.
This is a structured 4-session group that aims to provide education about depression - how thoughts-feelings-behavior all interact to contribute to depression. How to cope by incorporating accepted strategies into your life to minimize the effects of depression on your life.
This is a structured 4 to 6 session group that focuses on understanding the nature and function of anxiety. It also teaches anxiety management strategies such as monitoring thoughts, self-calming, and approaching situations that might make you anxious.
This is a 4-session group that is designed to expand the concepts covered in the Pathways seminar relating to the nature and purpose of emotions. It presents a variety of techniques to enhance healthy living with emotions.
This is an open group (no set beginning or end) that is available to graduate students. Its goal is to provide support for the unique stresses and strains of the graduate experience.
This is also an open group that is available to non-traditional students. The aim of the group is to provide support for the stresses and strains of the non-traditional experience in the university environment.
Helps the person to identify the thermometer of anger, learn
how to self-monitor the level of anger in the moment, how to self-calm and manage
anger constructively and in a socially responsible fashion.
