About this course

Geography 101 provides a forum for constructing general knowledge about the various regions of the world, and the physical and human components of place in the context of world geography. In this course we will discover a variety of things regarding distinct locations on the earth.  We will do this by learning about various physical environments found there and about the distribution of population and urban centers, the geography of natural resources and different agricultural and industrial activities and how these vary across regions, and by trying to comprehend the political and economic organization of the planet.  As geographers we take a holistic perspective on all of these matters, and thus learn to think spatially, and to see the locational interconnectedness of diverse human and physical phenomena.
