Morris Uebelacker has taught geography at Central Washington University for nearly two decades, and was named Distinguished Teaching Professor for 1998-99. He has extensive experience in field archaeology and environmental planning, and recently headed up a research team that completed a comprehensive geomorphologic and hydrologic study of the Yakima River floodplain. More recent endeavors include mapping pre-contact Native American village sites in Hells Canyon, and excavating the Wenas mammoth. He regularly teaches the Geography of Rivers course (GEOG 273) as well as the introductory graduate seminar in resource management. He serves as director of the Native American graduate fellowship program, a federally funded scholarship opportunity for Indian students. |
