Writing Assignment 4: Conversation on natural areas, biodiversity, landscape, and wilderness preservation
Due: May 26
Imagine a big wooden table in some cozy cabin. The fireplace is crackling and several people are sitting around the table talking with eachother. Construct an imaginary three-way conversation between any three of the following persons: Henry David Thoreau, Aldo Leopold, Mary Austin, Edward Abbey, and Barry Lopez, or Robert Michael Pyle on the topics of natural areas, biodiversity, landscape, and wilderness preservation. At some point in the conversation, YOUR chosen writer walks in the door, sits down and joins in. You must accurately "put words in their mouths" for all four writers according to what you have learned about their personal philosophies as expressed through their writing.
Length: 4-5 typewritten pages.
