Writing Assignment 3: Review of Edward Abbey's Desert Solitaire

You are to compose a scholarly book review of Desert Solitaire. Your paper should be at least four but no more than five printed pages, double-spaced with standard margins.
You should write your review as if this book has just arrived on the scene. The review should be a combination of synopsis and critique. You should contextualize your comments within your experience of the other readings you have completed so far this quarter, perhaps especially Mary Austin's work. Please cite selected passages from the book by page number.
