Lecture-Based Course for teaching XML

Links to instructional materials that accompany CST 407: XML Seminar: a 3-credit course taught by Sherry Yang at Oregon Institute of Technology spring quarter, 2001.

The 10-week course met twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, for an hour and 20 minutes each meeting. The class enrollment was twenty five students. The seminar is designed for seniors.

The course schedule of topics shows that the first eight weeks were devoted to learning the basic concepts of XML. Homework assignments are assigned accompany each major topic. The remaining two weeks were devoted to student project presentations.

Grading for the course was based on performance on the six homework assignments, one class project, and two exams.

For the class project, students have the option to explore a new XML child language or a new XML technology not covered in the class or explore ways to incorporate XML to their senior projects.
