Using Wikis for Collaborative Learning

An ETC Faculty Development Workshop by Ed Gellenbeck (November 17, 2006)

Thank you for coming. My preference is to make this presentation informal with lots of areas ripe for discussion.

Description: Wikis are beginning to be used as an online tool for collaboration by students and faculty. Their advantage is low cost, ease of use, and sense of community they foster.

Two weeks ago I delivered the The What and Why of Wikis Workshop designed to build from very basic to intermediate level knowledge of wikis.

Today I would like to focus on the use of wikis in higher education and demonstrate the steps involved in setting up and using a wiki to use on campus.
