Interlibrary Loan Services

General Information

We provide Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery services for obtaining materials which are not held by the library. These services are available to anyone holding a valid CWU Library card. Please review our Guidelines before placing an order.

Before making any request for materials, please search both CATTRAX, (CWU Library online catalog), Cascade (Statewide public universities' combined catalog), and the List of full-text journals available to the CWU community to determine if the material is held by the CWU Library in either print or electronic format.

We will not request any materials on Interlibrary Loan that are already owned by our library.

Still have questions? Try browsing our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Office Location and Materials Pickup

Our offices are located on the second floor of the CWU Library in Suite 255. To pick up materials please come to our self service pick up area just outside these offices. Photocopies of articles will be mailed to you and become your property.

Copyright Information:

Central Washington University Library Interlibrary Loan adheres to the Copyright Law of the United States.

The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.  Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
