Assignment
Use Microsoft Visio and Word to develop the high-level use-cases with scenarios for your CS 480-481 project
- Use Visio to draw high-level use-cases for your CS 480-481 project
- These may fit neatly onto a one-page diagram or, alternatively, be represented in a hierarchy of diagrams.
- A sample use-cases diagram (PDF, one-page, 6K) is available for viewing
- Use Microsoft Word to write out scenarios for three of your high-level use-cases
- A sample scenario (PDF, one-page, 60K) is available for viewing. Use this structured layout.
State your use-cases in terms of primary actors pursuing high-level goals. Concentrate on the big picture; avoid specifying user interface or implementation details.
Scenario scripts should explain the series of steps the system undertakes to deliver the high-level goal (and possible errors along the way).
Grading criteria
You should consider this assignment as your draft use-case diagram with scenarios. Your team will most likely need to revise them and then include them in your Software Requirements Specification Document.
A scoring rubric [PDF] will be used for assessing this assignment. You are encouraged to print this rubric and use it as a checklist for expectations, guidelines, and quality assurance.
Honor code: The work needs to be your own. You may receive assistance in the lab with the software, but you need to complete the work yourself.
Submission Guidelines
Turn in your neatly printed use-case diagram and scenarios at the start of class. Be sure your team name is included with the printouts.
