Oral Presentation and Project Demonstration

Prepare a five to ten minute oral presentation to demonstrate to the class your CS 446 prototype project.

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to use while you speak
Begin with an introduction explaining
- the problem addressed by your program
- your primary user group and persona
- some typical tasks accomplished by your program
Demonstrate your prototype to the class by running through some typical scenarios.
Provide a rationale for the user interface decisions you made.
Identify problems areas or changes you would have liked to have made, given more time.

I will use your demonstration to also evaluate the quality and completeness of your prototype. If you feel that you would like to arrange an additional project demonstration with me, without the stress incurred during this oral presentation, this is possible. However, everyone will need to demonstrate, through this oral presentation, their project to their CS 446 classmates.

Grading criteria

Your project demonstration will be assessed based on the content and your oral presentation proficiency.

A scoring rubric will be used for assessing this assignment. You are encouraged to print this rubric and use it as a checklist for expectations and quality assurance.

Submission Guidelines

Turn in your three-ring portfolio binder with the previous assignments.

Inside the Oral Presentation Tab include (in this order)

a print out your PowerPoint slides as a handout (6 slides per page)
- Save your PowerPoint slides in folder U:\PPT on your cs446 account. I will grade your PowerPoint slides based on your class presentation. However, if necessary, I will review your slides online.
Your time log that details and totals your effort spent on this phase of the prototype project
- A sample Excel spreadsheet is available for you to use
