    Activist Groups

  • Greenpeace International: a well known environmental advocacy group concerned with protecting our oceans, our atmosphere and our forests.  Greenpeace is concerned about the dangers of toxic and nuclear waste and genetic engineering.
  • Friends of the Earth: these folks are dedicated to protecting the planet from environmental degradation; preserving biological, cultural, and ethnic diversity; and empowering citizens to have an influential voice in decisions affecting the quality of their environment.
  • The Nature Conservancy: these folks buy land to protect it from development.  They have a local chapter in Washington State.
