THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!!!
CWU BASEBALL POKER RUN 2003
Well the results are in, and the fun run is over. The turn out for this years event was great!!! Being that it was Senior Day at our baseball field, there were many family members available for our players to choose from. There were a total of 7 teams that turned out for this years event. However, of the 7 teams that participated, 5 of them were family dominated. Meaning that 5 teams were made up of all original family members and 2 of the teams had players, some family and some friends combining to make a team. Although there were no prizes, the turnout was better than I had expected. Especially since it was the morning of a day on which the players had a double header against the #3 team in the West. The families were pumped, and the weather was great (no wind, a little over 60 degrees)

It was truly a day for the ladies, as the winning team came together to form a hand of three queens to walk away the winner of the 2003 CWU Baseball Family Poker Fun Run. The winning team was captained by Senior pitcher Jeff Perry, and his father, mother, and two brothers. Although time was not a factor in the scoring of the event, it will be dually noted that the Perry Family finished the 3 mile course in under 16 minutes!!!!! A time of 15:37!!! Now that is amazing!!! They were almost beat out when the Finch team (Sophomore pitcher Isaac Finch and his crew) came in with three 7’s!!! But the Perry team held on to win and wore their t-shirts proudly the rest of the day.
What a great event, can’t wait until next year!
