
It is the goal of Rolling Hills High School physical education department to teach this content to our students in hopes that they will master the following benchmarks. As you can see during the year we focus on 7 different activities and within these activities we expect our students to master the benchmarks that accompany them. Each activity has its own set of benchmarks that the students will try and master throughout that particular unit.

1. Demonstrates basic skills to participate in a variety team and individual sport activities

2. Daily participation in physical activity
Content/Benchmarks:
Ø Learn about activity outside of school
Ø Get involved in after school programs
Ø Fitness log book to record daily activity,
o Pedometer steps, distance, total calories burned
o Heart rate monitor
o Record any activity during school day hours
o Record any activity done outside of school
o Record all activity done over the summer months and vacation times
3. Understands the importance of fitness components, can evaluate their own fitness level, and have the ability to set specific, realistic goals to improve their overall level of fitness
