Welcome to the CWU Family Resource Center's 2008 Fall Quarter Parent Information, Education, and Support Evenings! Please join us as we learn, inquire, and enhance our our knowledge and application of parenting skills. The following FREE evening events will be offered this quarter:

 

The High Cost of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

This presentation, offered by the Family Policy Council, provides startling and relevant information about the effects of traumatic stress on brain development and the life-long physical, mental, socio-economic, and behavioral outcomes of ACEs. Key components of the developmental process and resiliency are discussed.

Protecting Your Children

This workshop helps you understand who is most likely to molest your child, how they might do it, and what you can do to stop them. Provides information that about how to talk with your children about sexual abuse, and how to help them if they are abused. Explains how our community deals with known offenders.

Follow-up round table discussion offered in November.

The Nurtured Parent, Part I

Presented by Counsultant and Counselor, Jennifer Pariseau, LMHC. This interactive class teaches skills to assist and support parents in caring for themselves in the midst of work, school, and family life.
