Family and Consumer Sciences : Interior Design |
Interior DesignThe Interior Design Program offers students both a major and minor program of study. The program places special emphasis on classes in Art, Business, Industrial and Engineering Technology (IET) and Theatre as well as the recommended core classes from the Family Consumer Sciences Department. Career opportunities sough by Interior Design graduates include positions in such diverse types of organizations as corporations sales, office dealerships, showroom sales, retail, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, recreation, industrial, institutional, or transportation. Others have further specialized in design of kitchens, lighting, bathrooms, color consultation, education, journalist/photography, and drafting. The Interior Design major consists of either a sixty credit (without a declared minor) or forty-five (with a declared minor). The program offers a two year rotation of classes and a student must set up a two year plan with an Interior Design advisor in order to be accepted into the major.
