Some areas of study within the Family Consumer Sciences Education major are parenting, nutrition and wellness, interpersonal relationships, human development, family, textiles and apparels, housing, interiors and furnishings, hospitality, tourism and recreation, food science, dietetics, family and community services, early childhood, and education and services. Students interested in a major in Family Consumer Sciences Education are required to complete a professional education program, the Family and Consumer Sciences major, student teach, obtain an valid CPR card, complete 2,000 hours of paid work experience in the previous six years, and provide documentation of occupational safety.
