Building Maintenance Services

The building maintenance area of FMD includes the Abatement, Area, Carpentry, Dining, Paint, and Floor shops. These shops are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the architectural features and structural integrity of all campus facilities. They are also responsible for the maintenance of the campus non-parking hard surface areas (sidewalks) and campus signage.

Services Provided

All of the building maintenance shops support major and minor campus capital projects. The Abatement shop provides the expertise and workforce to deal with all asbestos and lead related hazards for the entire campus. The Area and Carpentry shops maintain all campus buildings from the roof down to the foundation including doors, windows, cabinets, ceiling systems, wall systems, and minor repairs to campus building electrical and mechanical systems. The Paint and Floor shops maintain all interior and exterior architectural finishes such as floor covering and paint. The Paint shop also functions as a sign shop. The Dining shop is also responsible for the maintenance of all food services equipment and food storage.
