I) Introductions/Agenda

Senate Meeting/Club Recognition – Adam Update: Adam turned this on Monday, so we should be square – doubt that we’ll have any problems Last meeting, Adam forgot to go – apologizes - (if we miss more than one a quarter, then we don’t get funding? Sara – if you miss two consecutive meetings in a quarter, can’t vote or request money, to get back into good standing, have to go to two consecutive meetings) On Adam’s calendar for Thursday, make sure for next quarter have someone more responsible, 4:00 every other Thursday – we’ll work it out Always hard to find people to go because of class conflicts with REM Meghan condensed the constitution – would like to email this out to everyone In spring quarter, have to remember to get the digital copy of everything, constitution and recognition packet Decisions: Adam will go to next meeting Meghan will mail everyone updated constitution

Doughnut & Coffee Sale Update – Adam We made under $80 bucks, had a lot of extra doughnuts, we made about 50 in Lind and 20 something in Farrell Discussion: Just scrap Farrell? Just have leftovers from Lind and go to Farrell the next day? First and third Monday?? A lot of effort – Once a month seems to be more than enough Decisions: Vote passes that we will only have one bake sale per month (just the first Monday of every month) Next bake sale is on December 1st Next meeting is on December 2nd (skip the next scheduled meeting due to the Thanksgiving holiday)

Planting update – Meghan Partnered with Kittitas County Conservation District, planting at Wilson Creek (cotton woods). Used to be a feedlot, trying to restore it, took three hours all together. Pictures of event and volunteers – Need to go up on website Doing another in Spring? Discussion about availability Decisions: We will do another planting in the spring. It needs to be worth DJ’s (at KCCD) time, so we will need five to ten people to show up. We will plan this a couple months in advance so that people can put it on their calendars Meghan will give pictures to Kolten to put up on the website

Movie Night Denny: The licensing is no problem, Denny has it covered Can we get this off the ground this quarter? – Decisions: We will have the movie night next quarter and will decided on a date by the next meeting (Tiffany will then schedule it out)

Website update – Kolten Yay, Kolton’s here! Everything needs to be emailed to Kolten Meghan: Discussion on what needs to be up. Having someone do the calendar for conferences? Decisions: The following needs to be up on the website: Meeting notes, active member roster, pictures Meghan will feel out how much work a calendar for conferences will take and will see about doing this

Sustainability Week/Carbon Reduction Taskforce – Tiffany Tiffany and Jeff attended the Carbon Reduction Taskforce Meeting The Museum, along with the Taskforce (hopefully), will be organizing a week of sustainability (March 2nd- March 6th), partnering with groups on campus. Guest Speaker (Sara Hoober from Communications Department): How would ERMA like to be involved? Discussion: Would we like to take on a day during the sustainability week? Does this conflict with any conferences? Decisions: We will take on Thursday, the 5th during sustainability week. We will possibly bring in profs to talk about water, an intimate discussion in the SURC pit. We will show a movie about plastic water bottles and then sell our stainless steel water bottles. People will come up with ideas for the next meeting to get a schedule planned out for our day during the week of sustainability

Nature of Night - Meghan Meghan forwarded this email, sponsored by KEEN (Kittitas Environmental Education Network Need to let them know by November 14th, they would like us to sponsor a booth. Discussion: Explaining what Nature of Night is: There are educational booths at the event, they open up the planetarium, etc. Decisions: We are not going to do a booth, but may volunteer some of our people. Holly and Meghan would be willing to volunteer

Conference Van Pool - Meghan Deadline for abstracts is on November 13th. AAG runs from March 22nd-28th over spring break (it conflicts with Morris’ class) Discussion: Who is going? We need serious and firm commitments before we reserve vans. We need a deadline for people to say when they are for sure going to be a part of the vanpool. Could we cut AAG to four days being at the conference? Decisions: If you are going to go to the conference, we need a firm commitment by end of the quarter. Think about whether we can cut AAG down to four day and discuss at the next meeting.

Yakima Trolly Project Kathy Sample (third year, works at Yakima Valley Museum) is working on restoring Trolly project and was wondering if anyone would like to spend a weekend (or a couple hours) to help her do this. Discussion: Bonus: She has talked about getting catering for the day. Time frame? She wants it to be in the next couple of months, probably beginning of next quarter Decisions: No one can focus a full weekend, but quite a few people (5-8) can donate a couple hours or an afternoon. Meghan will talk to Kathy about when exactly she would like help with the trolly.

Finances - Adam How much $ do we have? Adam - $272 left over from last year, $300 from various bakes sales, etc. in cash box = $606 grand total Fundraising Discussion: Jess suggests that Grants might give us pizza for us to sell, doing this instead of donuts? Selling water bottles: Meghan found hidden fees with water bottles. If we buy 72 at $3.99 with all shipping fees = $386.66 (if we sell for $10, $333.34 profit, if we sell for $15, $693.34). Discussion on logo, having ERMA in the logo, but bringing in larger concept of sustainability? Should we do a pre-order list? Decisions: Meghan will call Grants and see if they will donate. Tiffany will talk to Whitney about possibility of doing new logo. If she doesn’t have a logo by next meeting, we will go with the old logo.

Only 3 weeks until the Toga Party! Monday before toga party we will hand out little flyers

Other Business Adam took down four names at last meeting of people who paid – Tiffany, Jeff, Pauly, and Jess. Is this all? Yep. Jess: Could we re-work the requirements (ERMA requirement that you must attend three meetings a quarter to be official member) so that activities should count higher than meetings? Discussion about how activities take quite a bit of time and should be on par with meetings. Decisions: We will start writing down names at meetings to make sure that people are getting in their requirement Vote passed for constitutional amendment to change ERMA good standing requirements to require three meetings OR three events per quarter.
