Lonely Muffin

The local coffee shop offers
A variety of popular brews,
In any size I desire. Sitting
Alone in the cabinet at the
Day's end, a lone muffin,
Made fresh that morning. I
Wonder if it's been left there
For a reason, or simply
Forgotten as most head home
For dinner. Pondering the nature
Of the muffin, chocolate maybe,
I order my drink, two shots tonight.
Do I get the muffin too?
The barista returns with my drink,
Politely string, inquiring with bland eyes
Whether I want any thing else.
The moment of decision has come,
Shall I give it a chance?
I squeak 'yes' to the
Lonely muffin.
