Fall

Green sickening into yellow.
Golds spread.
There is no stopping,
no containing,
it slowly infects
each and every one.
Soon the flames appear
on the outer edge.
They race for the heart,
the colors fanning
out across the plane,
until it is all done
and brown ashes fall.
Slowly covering the ground
only to be shrouded in white.
