What you will gain:

  • Participate in hands-on, inquiry-based, authentic learning activities.

Requirements for Participation:


  • Text book: “The First Days of School”, Harry K. Wong and Rosemary T. Wong
  • Be fully admitted to the teacher preparation program.
  • Have submitted fingerprint registration to state.
  • Have major and minor declared and have completed enough coursework to ensure ability to complete ALL requirements by the end of the academic year. (This will require planning with an advisor.)
  • Must be able to student teach spring quarter.
  • Commit 10 – 12 hours per week to practicum the first two quarters.
  • Have necessary transportation available.

What your program will look like:


  • Pre-Autumn: EDCS 300
  • Fall Quarter: Internship practicum – EDCS 492 (4 cr.) plus CWU classes
  • Winter Quarter: Internship practicum – EDCS 492 (4 cr.) plus CWU classes
  • Spring Quarter: STUDENT TEACHING (16 credits)
