Placement Restrictions
STUDENTS WILL NOT ATTEMPT/ASK TO:
- Arrange for a placement directly with a school or district administrator or teacher.
- Have someone other than the university-approved supervisor act on their behalf in order to make a placement (parents, relatives, friends, etc.)
- Be placed in a school building where they: a) attended and/or graduated; b) previously worked or currently work; c) have relatives working or have recently worked; d) have relatives or children attending or have recently attended; or e) have a personal connection.
I UNDERSTAND THAT:
- Central Washington University is responsible for requesting a placement for me, and that individual school districts accept or deny placements based on the merits of my application.
- all placements are dependent upon the feasibility of University-approved supervision and vary according to district preferences and demands on district personnel and resources.
- these conditions, and perhaps others, will determine whether or not a district decides to place me in a school building.
- if I seek my own placement or that if one is sought for me by parties other than the assigned University-approved supervisor, my placement may be jeopardized.
- the preferences indicated on this application will be taken into consideration, but that I am not guaranteed placement in a particular school district, building, or with a particular cooperating teacher.
- based on the number of students being placed by CWU, a specific geographic area, or subject type placement, may not be available each term.
- I am responsible for arranging my own housing and transportation, and that these cannot be determining factors for placement.
