Earth Science Teaching Major, B.A.

[Major] [Minor] [Earth Science Matrix] [Approval Form] [CWU Catalog Description]

This major satisfies the criteria for an endorsement in Earth science. It does not constitute preparation for a career in geology. The Earth science major qualifies students to teach earth science at the high school level and the middle or junior high school level. Students should seriously consider working toward endorsement in a second area, such as biology, chemistry, general science, physics or mathematics. Earth science majors are required to complete the professional education program requirements offered through the education department. They must complete an electronic program portfolio prior to student teaching. Students completing this program are required to pass the WEST-E (PRAXIS II) exam for Earth science to receive a Washington State teaching endorsement in Earth science.
