Empowerment Gender Education Programs

The Center for Student Empowerment offers four different gender education programs that can be customized for your particular group or organization. Our staff will come to your residence hall, classroom, or business to deliver a dynamic program which encourages critical thinking and group discussions about the various componants of gender. Programs are typically 45 minutes to an hour long, unless otherwise arranged. Simply choose the program that best suits your needs and send us a request using the form to the right!

GENDER BOXES is a program that asks participants to explore beyond the stereotypes and expectations that society imposes on women and men. Participants are asked to help brainstorm and discuss gender roles, with the ultimate goal of realizing a woman or a man can be more than we often think. This program can be easily customizable for groups of all ages. Step outside of the box!

POP CULTURE, SEX & SCANDAL is an exciting program that explores gender as it is perceived in today's society and especially in the media. Discussions are based around prominent pop culture women and men in the media. This program discusses how gender roles affect popularity and how the media effects our perception of women and men.

FROM ONE NIGHT STANDS TO LONG TERM PLANS is a thought-provoking program that explores perceptions of women and men and their choices when it comes to sex and relationships. This program asks participants to discuss what it really means for a woman or a man have a one night stand or be in a committed relationship - and everything in between.

GENDER BENDER is a casual session that allows participants to ask questions to men and/or women they have always wanted to ask regarding; relationships, perceptions, opposite sex and more. This session is a time to open up the communication between sexes in a supportive and anonymous way.
