Zabrina Jenkins  is an attorney for Starbucks Coffee Company.  In her position as corporate counsel, Ms. Jenkins oversees the general liability litigation for retail locations in North America and provides legal advice and counsel to Starbucks management and partners relating to potential and actual litigation, primarily in the areas of real estate, commercial and general business law.  She currently serves on the diversity committee for the Law & Corporate Affairs department and was the co-coordinator of the department's summer intern program in 2006 and 2007.

Prior to joining Starbucks, Ms. Jenkins was an associate at Garvey Schubert Barer in Seattle, Washington. During her tenure with the firm, Ms. Jenkins focused her practice on commercial litigation matters, including labor and employment litigation.

Ms. Jenkins is an active volunteer in both legal and civic organizations.  She serves on the Central Washington University Foundation Board, the Washington Women Lawyers Board, the Washington Attorneys Assisting Community Organizations (WAACO) Advisory Board, the Future of the Law Institute Board and the Puget Sound Area Minority Clerkship Program (PSAMCP) Steering Committee. She served on the Loren Miller Bar Association Board from 2005 to 2007, the Phillip L. Burton Scholarship Dinner Committee from 2003 to 2006, and was chair of the 2006 Committee.  Ms. Jenkins has also been recognized as a Rising Star by Washington Law & Politics.

Ms. Jenkins received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Central Washington University, her Master of Science degree from Syracuse University School of Education and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law, where she received the Vice President's Award for Outstanding Graduate Student.

We would like to invite you to experience the 10 Annual Women’s Achievement Celebration on March 5, 2008 from 6-8pm. This event has been created to celebrate and give public acknowledgement to those individuals who have shown great support towards women’s issues.

The Women’s Achievement Celebration will take place in the Sue Lombard Dining Room (just off of University Way) and will include live music, a keynote speech by Corporate Council of Starbucks, Zabrina Jenkins, a full catered dinner, and an awards ceremony with short speeches by nominators and winners.

This evening is sponsored by the Center for Student Empowerment, Dining Services, and Catering.
