Employee Rights and Responsibilities
The responsibility of the employee, as is stated in the
Policy and
Procedures of the Central Washington University is a three step process:
- The employee needs to self-identify as having a disability.
- The employee will need to provide written documentation of the disability to the university.
- The employee must request specific accommodations that will negate the effect of the disability which affects the employee’s ability to perform the essential functions of their job.
Employees should carefully read both the policy and the procedures related to obtaining accommodations due to disability.
Supervisors need to know that employees who are disabled have rights. Supervisors need to refer anyone who seeks information about disability to the ADA Compliance Officer:
