I'm serving my second stint as Director of Disability Support Services at Central Washington University. I was here from 1996 until 2000 and I returned in February of 2007. I am proud, once again, to be at the helm of the DSS program which is regionally known for setting best practices in this field.

In addition to providing the leadership of the office, I work individually or in groups with students. Our responsibility to make sure that students with disabilities have equal access to all aspects of the university. We want to make the transition from K-12 education or transfers from other postsecondary schools go as smoothly as possible. We also want to make sure that students are prepared at the end of their time at Central Washington University for their next transition to the work world or to begin work on advanced degrees.

I taught for nearly 20 years so I enjoy working with faculty. I, myself, had two sons with disabilities which heighten my empathy for people and families who deal with disabilities.
