After finishing my internship, I got married to Joe (who I met and dated at CWU). We then moved to Davenport, Iowa where Joe is attending Palmer College of Chiropratic. We plan to move back to Washington after Joe graduates in 2004. In the meantime, I am working as a clinical dietitian on the medical and surgical units at Genesis Medical Center. I also teach Cardiac Rehab Phase II classes.

Working hard, or hardly working, I haven't figured out which. I am working in public health w/the First Steps program. My focus is pregnant/lactating women. I will soon be the WIC coordinator and am trying my hand at the occasional MNT outpatient also. My clientele is ~97% Hispanic, ~93% of which are monoligual so, in other words, many people are sufferring through my attempts at Spanish each day!! I am living in my home town and loving it. Luckily we have a great bunch of RD's in this area and we get togther by phone or over dinner fairly often. Guess that's the jist of it for now. Miss everybody, miss the college life, hope everyone is well.

I was working as an RD in Wenatchee for a year before we moved to North Bend. I was enjoying working with out and inpatients as well as teaching weight loss classes and diabetes manangement classes. My husband started a new job, so we were required to move. We recently had our first child in November, so currently I'm VERY busy being a mom. I hope to return to the field in a year or two..

I went a different rout from most people- in the direction of food science rather than dietetics. After CWU, I got my Masters (MS) in food science from OSU. I have been working since for Continental Mills, a great company that manufacures baking mixes (Krusteaz and other brands). I work in the R&D lab developing and standardizing testing procedures and creating an SPC ( Statistical Process Control) program for our plants. I am also very busy with a 2yr old son, and another on the way!

I have been at drugstore.com for over 4 years now. I started out answering questions about nutritional supplements, but have now gotten completely out of Nutrition and have joined the Online Marketing team. I absolutely love it! While Nutrition turned out to be not for me, I still enjoyed my time at Central in the Nutrition program and I miss all the great friends I made there and our great professors!
