web site has lots of information and games that could be used in a
classroom. It also has a shop where you can get the shows that they air
which can also be used to supplement different teaching. There is
also a cool feature called this day in history which shows what
happened on all the days of the year. You can also look up what
happened on your birthday which can be used as a fun activity for the
class. |
| National Geographic | There
is a link for their history page on the side and on that page there are
links to videos and different articles. the articles can be used for
class projects and if the classroom has internet and a screen then the
videos can be shown in class or given as a supplement outside of class.

are different categories for different events and time eras in world
history. This means that no matter what the students are learning about
there is a link to go and look things up. This site would also be
helpful in trying to come up with lesson plans because of all of the
information on different time eras in US history. |
| OSPI website | This
web page is for the state of Washington and teachers are able to look
up the current GLE's on it. This helps because you have to know the
GLE's to make lesson plans and to know what you are expected to teach.
It also has a link to learn how to get grants, a very useful
thing to know how to do. There are also links on the site that allow
you to check out school WASL scores. |

are links on this page for both kids and for teachers. On the teacher
page there are lesson plans that are available for use and there are all
kinds of primary sources which would be very helpful the the class.
There are also resources that teachers can send students to to find
information for things such as papers or projects which they will have
to do with CBAs. |

site would be helpful mainly to middle school teachers because of the
content which is the Revolutionary War. This site also has a textbook
that can be used in supplement with the other textbooks in your class.
It has information on important things such as the Liberty Bell, Betsy
Ross, and Valley Forge which students can look up and do work with. |
| History Net | This
site is a site for a history magazine and it has some of its articles
in it. This makes it a resource if students are writing papers and need
to find magazine articles or resources that are not from the internet.
There are different magazines for different time periods so students
should be able to find something at the site to use. Teachers can also
sign up for the magazine or buy DVD's at the web page. |
| World Factbook | This
site has maps that can be printed out and used in class or just put on
the board with an overhead to make sure students know where things are
taking place. Birth and death rates are also on this site and so are
poverty levels and how free a country is considered. This helps
students understand where countries histories have led them and
understand the condition of people in other countries. |
| PBS History for teachers | PBS
has lesson plans that can be used or modified for use in the
classroom, which can be selected on the first screen. There are many
topics to choose from and there are resources for teachers on each of
them. There are also resources for current events that are going on and
how to incorporate that into your classroom. |

site has information for both U.S. history and for world history and it
breaks its site up into different themes such as wars. When you click
on a theme it breaks it down even more so no matter what topic you are
teaching information will be at your fingertips. This can also be used
for students for research for a paper or for help on homework. |
