About Our ClubWho Are We? The CWU Rodeo Club is made up of both rodeo competitors and non-competitors. The club is intended to bring individuals together to make new friends with a common interest in rodeo. The club is managed by the club’s Board of Directors. The Board is made up of both competitors and non-competitors. The Rodeo Club also hosts an annual rodeo at the Ellensburg Rodeo Arena. This annual event is held every April and attracts competitors from ten different schools from all over Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. The event is free to attend. Since 2003 our annual rodeo has been dedicated to the memory of Todd D. Anderson. Todd was one of the most passionate, friendly, and energetic members of the CWU Rodeo Club both in competition and as its president. What is Rodeo? It is a public exhibition of cowboy/cowgirl skills. Some of these skill include bronc riding, barrel racing, bull riding and team roping. What Should a Spectator Expect? Spectators should expect to see an event with fierce competition between competitors. You will also see the joy of cowboys and cowgirls who perform well during their event and frustration of those who don't succeed. |
