Close to Campus

Kiku-Chan is just south of compus on University way, and serves excellent Japanese food. ($$)

The Gingko Tree specializes in teriyaki. It is located just off the southeast corner of campus. ($$)

El Caporal is located at the corner of Main and University, and serves good Mexican style food. ($$)

Wing Central is located north of campus, and is a very popular student hangout. ($$)

Grant's Pizza is in the same area as Kiku-Chan, and has a good selection of pizza, sandwiches and salad, and also serves some of the local beer. ($)

Campus U-Tote-Em is a popular burger place, and is located across University Way from campus, on the southeast edge of campus. ($)



Downtown

The Valley Cafe is consistently voted one of Ellensburg's best restaurants, and has wonderful chocolate desserts. ($$$$)

Sazon is brand new in town. ($$$$)

The Dakota offers lunch and dinner, as well as excellent pastry and coffee in the morning. ($$$)

The Starlight has a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as having a great martini menu for Happy Hour, 3:00 - 6:00. ($$$)

The Ellensburg Pasta Company serves pasta and traditional Italian dishes. They also have a very nice selection of wine. ($$$)

The Palace Cafe is an Ellensburg institution, and offers traditional "American" style eating. ($$)

Sugar Thai serves excellent Thai cuisine. ($$)

The Panda Garden is a nice Chinese restaurant located downtown. ($$)

The Tav is a great bar (21+ only) that has an excellent selection on tap, as well as good burgers. ($$)

The Soup Bowl makes excellent soups (especially the tomato roasted garlic) and sandwiches. ($$)

Morelli's Cafe Italiano is an Italian style deli and serves their own gelato ($$)



Farther South


The Yellow Church (111 S Pearl St) is located roughly halfway between downtown and the hotels on Canyon Road and serves a full selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and makes a wonderful chocolate cake ($$$)

The Road House Grille is very close to the hotels on Canyon Road, and offers a very good menu, and a good selection of local beers, including Roslyn. ($$)

Fiesta en Jalisco serves Mexican style dishes, and makes an excellent margarita. Like The Road House Grille, Fiesta en Jalisco is located very close to the hotels on Canyon Road. ($$)


Local Places for Coffee


D & M Coffee roasts their own coffee right here in Ellensburg. There are several locations around town, including a drive-thru on Canyon Road.

Winegar's serves coffee and their own ice-cream, and makes their own old-fashioned malts.
