Tenure-Track Employment 

There is currently a search for a Tenure-Track position in Mathematics Education (K-12) underway (short position description below).You can find more information and the online application for this position at www.cwu.edu/~hr/jobs/.

Primary responsibilities include teaching content courses for prospective elementary teachers, pedagogy and content courses for prospective secondary teachers, and mathematics general education courses. The successful candidate will have superior teaching abilities, a willingness to teach secondary, middle school, and elementary mathematics and mathematics methods courses, and the ability to teach other college mathematics courses as well. Other responsibilities include: 1) advising prospective secondary teachers and holding regular office hours; 2) engaging in scholarly activities including mathematics education research, grant writing, curriculum writing, and assessment and evaluation; and 3) participating in departmental service and mathematics education community service. Additional service to the department, college, university and community is also expected. A willingness to work with other faculty members in the summer MAT program is a plus.

Adjunct Employment 

The Mathematics Department at Central Washington University sometimes offers full-time and part-time non-tenure-track positions with duties beginning in mid-September. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in the General Education Program (Math in the Modern World, Finite Mathematics, and Pre-Calculus).  The successful applicant will be invited to participate as a full member of the department.  Central Washington University is located in Ellensburg, a community of approximately 17,000 that enjoys one of the finest living environments of the Pacific Northwest. Currently, the Mathematics Department is seeking one, possibly two, full time positions for the 2007–2008 academic year with duties beginning September 16, 2007.

Student Employment 

The Mathematics Department hires students for grading as well as maintains a list of students who are interested in tutoring other students. Please contact the Department Secretary Debbie Thomas for more information.
