Washington State Tranportation Framework Pilot Project

The Washington State Department of Transportation is developing a Transportation Framework (WA-Trans), which is a state-wide database of location-based transportation data. WA-Trans will contain the best data available from all levels of government including tribal nations. The data will be seamless, connected, consistent and continuous between jurisdictions and boundaries and other framework layers and will be continuously improved.

CSI is partnering with WA-Trans and Walla Walla, Benton and Franklin Counties in a pilot project to develop repeatable techniques for conflating and translating county transportation data into the WA-Trans geodatabase schema.

CSI is specifically working to:

• standardize technical processes

• find opportunities for automation

• experiment with automation processes

• research software to help standardize and implement processes

• document what has been done and learned during the process
