Science Honors Capstone Seminar

The senior science honors students will enroll in a Capstone Science Honors Seminar organized and developed by two faculty from separate disciplines. One goal of the Capstone course will be to assist students in effective thesis writing. Another will be to bring the students' research experience and acquisition of knowledge and skills to a successful culmination. In this course, students will focus on their major project and utilize to the fullest extent the research and communication skills learned previously. Topics for the Capstone course will include effective writing styles, presenting data in an accurate, objective, and stimulating manner, and communicating science to expert and uninitiated audiences. Other topics to be explored in discussion format are ethical issues in science and science as a way of knowing or acquiring information.
