Research Proposal Budget

Research Budget: The total funds requested in the proposal for research related expenses may not exceed $1,000. Accepted expenses include materials, supplies, equipment, project-related travel, printing, software and other justified costs. For specialized equipment purchases that exceed the $1,500, consult with the Office of Graduate Studies and Research regarding CWU programs that fund equipment purchases. All materials purchased with grant funds remain the property of CWU.

Students may also apply for a CWU Office of Undergraduate Research grant and a College of the Sciences Undergraduate Research grant. Students who apply for multiple grants must clarify on their budget form the division of expenses among grants.

Summer Research Stipend: Student $3,000; Faculty mentor $5,000.

Students will work on their research project full time for nine weeks during the summer session. Campus housing will be available and offered to the students. Faculty will be expected to actively mentor the students during the 9-week summer research project.

Faculty Academic Year Reassigned Time: 3 contact hours.
