Hello, I'm the resident "old guy" in the department. I've been here since 1976, and in the past 30 years I've taught a variety of oral and written communication courses (see representative syllabi). Along with teaching, I've helped develop our public relations major and organizational communication minor, and served twice as department chair. My life outside the university involves family, hiking, cross-country skiing, fooling around with old cars, and lots of community service. In 2002, I was named a Distinguished Professor of the University in Public Service, something of which I'm (obviously) very proud.
