Undergraduate Courses/ Programs on Reserve:

The following courses and programs are on reserve and may be offered subject to program needs: COM 101. Communication and Issues (5); COM 110. Oral Communication Skills (3); COM 380. Nonverbal Communication (4).

Policy on approving Individual Study Credits:

  1. The application must make clear both student's and faculty member's activities for the credits requested. Normally, each credit requires 30 hours of work. The rationale should make clear what work will be completed to justify the number of credits given.
  2. Individual Study is normally not approved in lieu of an existing course. Students are expected to take regular courses to fulfill curriculum requirements. Individual Study normally does not substitute for a required course.
  3. If students are in need of a specific required course, rather than use Individual Study to fulfill that requirement, they should work with their advisor and/or the Department Chair to find a regularly offered course to substitute for the required course.
