Lois Breedlove teaches courses in mass media and society, journalism
and online design. This is her fifth year at CWU. During that time, she's
led the development of the online specialization in the journalism major
and teaches the two main courses offered in online media. Professor Breedlove
is also the adviser to the Observer,
both the print and online versions. In the last three years she has been
running a program called the Bridges
Project that uses college students in the schools of the lower Yakima
Valley to help teach writing and technology.
Professor Breedlove has her master's degree in journalism and
public affairs from the American University in Washington, D.C.. She has
worked for newspapers in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Texas and Washington, D.C.
and has done graphic design and online design as a consultant. Before coming
to Central, Breedlove was in charge of the student publications program
at Portland State University for seven years. For more information about
